Soggy Heroes

Anyone from our area knows what kind of weather we had on Saturday morning: No, it didn't just rain. It RAINED. It POURED. It SOAKED. It DRENCHED. It TEEMED. It MONSOONED. And my poor teammates, some of them from the fall season doing their 20 mile practice, ran and walked with smiles on their faces. I am continually in awe of the people we have met through Team In Training.

And why, do you ask, am I speaking of them as if I wasn't walking alongside?? Because I wasn't. That's right-- it was my lucky day! I had picked Saturday as my day to man the waterstop. So I set up camp under the horse stables at mile 2.5 at Valley Green, and greeted my drowned little rats with Gatorade and a smile. Sadly, I didn't think to bring dry socks or underwear...
